Paramount has preemptively bought an untitled contemporary love story pitch by scripter Marc Klein as a starring vehicle for Tom Cruise and set it up with Par-based Cruise/ Wagner.
Logline’s being kept under wraps.
“We believe Marc Klein has come up with an original and very moving love story,” Cruise/Wagner exec Don Granger told Daily Variety.
Paramount execs took the pitch off the table Thursday.
Marc Evans will oversee for the studio.
Cruise last appeared in “War of the Worlds” and stars in “Mission: Impossible 3,” bowing in May. He hasn’t yet set his next acting gig.
Klein, who’s repped by ICM, has credits on “Serendipity” and Fox’s upcoming “A Good Year,” a drama-romance starring Russell Crowe and directed by Ridley Scott. He’s also attached to direct his adaptation of “The Girl’s Guide to Hunting and Fishing,” starring Sarah Michelle Gellar and produced by Odd Lot Entertainment.
