David Kaminow has been named exec VP of marketing at the Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group.
He will work alongside Valerie Van Galder, prexy of marketing for the group, on all aspects of Sony Pictures marketing campaigns for films produced by Columbia Pictures and Revolution Studios. He will continue to oversee worldwide market research for the studio.
At Sony, Kaminow has overseen worldwide market research on films such as “The Da Vinci Code,” “Fun With Dick and Jane,” “The Pink Panther,” “Memoirs of a Geisha” and “Spider-Man 2.”
“For the past three years, David has been the marketing department’s secret weapon,” Van Galder said. “He is the best research analyst in the business, and he has an acute understanding of what makes a campaign tick.”
Prior to joining Columbia, Kaminow spent his career at Miramax Films in New York.
