Award will be presented on Jan. 20
The Producers Guild of America has tapped “An Inconvenient Truth” to receive the 2007 Stanley Kramer Award, which recognizes work that illuminates provocative social issues.
Kudos will be presented at the 18th annual PGA Awards on Jan. 20 at the Century Plaza. Producers Laurie David, Lawrence Bender and Scott Z. Burns, along with co-producer Lesley Chilcott and exec producers Jeff Skoll, Davis Guggenheim, Diane Weyermann, Ricky Strauss and Jeff Ivers, will receive the nod.
PGA Awards co-chairs Hawk Koch and Mark Gordon said: “An Inconvenient Truth” has the “very rare combination of subject matter that affects every person on our planet and immerses its audience in a totally engaging film experience. The filmmakers involved with this project committed themselves in an extraordinary manner and created a piece of cinema that will live on for generations.”
“An Inconvenient Truth” has grossed $23.8 million domestically and $15 million overseas.
