Oscar faces makeup nods

'Narnia,' 'History of Violence,' 'Revenge of the Sith' up for noms

Seven films are in contention for the Oscar for achievement in makeup.

“The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” “Cinderella Man,” “A History of Violence,” “The Libertine,” “Mrs. Henderson Presents,” “The New World” and “Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith” will vie for the three nominations from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.

The makeup award nominating committee will screen 10-minute clips from each film Jan. 28.

Nominees for the 78th annual Academy Awards will be announced Jan 31.
