Landau lands Pickford nod

Thesp to be feted at IPA's Satellite Awards

Martin Landau will be honored with the Intl. Press Academy’s Mary Pickford Award for contributions to the entertainment community at the IPA’s 11th annual Satellite Awards Dec. 17 in Beverly Hills.

The Brooklyn-born actor began his professional career on the New York stage. He won the Academy Award for supporting actor in 1994 for his perf as Bela Lugosi in “Ed Wood.”

His television work includes “Mission: Impossible” and, most recently, a guest stint on HBO’s “Entourage.”

Past recipients of the Mary Pickford Award include Jodie Foster, Francis Ford Coppola, Karl Malden, Alan J. Pakula, Rod Steiger, Arnon Milchan, Maximilian Schell, Robert Evans, Susan Sarandon and last year’s recipient, Gena Rowlands.
