After returning to Wednesday for a year, the Grammy Awards will be back on Sunday night next year, airing Feb. 11 on CBS.
Ceremony again will be held at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
In February, the Grammycast was crippled in the ratings by its competition — “American Idol” at 8 p.m. and then “Lost” at 9. Show pulled in 17.01 million viewers overall, a 12% decline from 2005 and a 38% falloff from 2004.
The Recording Academy will announce nominations for the awards on Dec. 7 at the Music Box Henry Fonda Theater in Hollywood.
Grammy Week — a weeklong series of cultural events — will begin Feb. 5 or 6 and include the annual MusiCares person of the year tribute.
