Casting Society holds Artios Awards

'Brokeback,' 'Wedding' nab kudos

The Casting Society of America held the 22nd Artios Awards on November 1 in Beverly Hills.

Projects were recognized in 20 categories. Among the awarded films were “Brokeback Mountain” and “Wedding Crashers.”

In addition, producer John Wells was awarded the Career Achievement Award and casting director April Webster was honored with the Hoyt Bowers Award. The Apple Award was given to Juliet Taylor in New York.

The evening included an original song performed by casting director Bruce Newberg and Broadway star Sam Harris as well as a video memorial tribute with Clint Eastwood.
