AEG has acquired Ken Ehrlich Prods. to create the joint venture AEG Ehrlich Ventures.
Ehrlich has been a producer of the Grammy Awards for 26 years and the Emmys for three. He also produces specials for network, cable, syndication and homevideo programming.
“His addition to our family will help us to serve our clients even better by providing new marketing platforms and additional ways to exploit their careers while building a unique and stand alone business unit,” said Randy Phillips, prexy-chief exec of AEG Live, under whose aegis AEG Ehrlich Ventures will fall.
Ehrlich will be key in helping attract awards shows to AEG’s 7,250-seat Nokia Theater, slated to open next year downtown.
Among the awards shows on Ehrlich’s resume are the Blockbuster Awards, the Alma Awards, the Latin Grammys, the European MTV Awards and the MTV Movie Awards, which he created in 1992.
He also produced Sports Illustrated’s 20th Century Sports Awards for CBS and the “Divas” shows he created for VH1.
