Shadow picks up ‘Road’ docu

Pic ollows four gypsy bands on tour in North America

U.S. and Canada rights to music docu “When the Road Bends… Tales of a Gypsy Caravan” have been acquired by specialty distrib Shadow Distribution and DVD releasing firm Docurama. They’ve skedded a mid-2007 theatrical release.

Helmed by Jasmine Dellal, “Road Bends” follows four gypsy bands on tour in North America. It preemed at the Tribeca Film Festival and has since picked up kudos at the Flanders, Vancouver and Karlovy Vary fests. It was financed by Independent Television Service and international sales agent Fortissimo Films.

Shadow, which recently released French pic “Heading South” (“Vers le sud”), is also readying Philip Haas-helmed drama “The Situation” for a February release.
