Renate Roginas has resigned as artistic director of Russia’s St. Petersburg festival in frustration that staffers haven’t been paid after four months of planning for the July event.

Former executive secretary at European Union funding body Eurimages, Roginas will return to an executive producing and industry training role based in Paris and Berlin.
