CANNES — “Duellist” helmer Lee Myung-see is set to direct “M,” a chiller about a man falling in love with a woman who does not realize she is a ghost. Pic is the newest addition to slate of the Core Studio, the South Korean sales and production boutique which was launched last year. Lee, who is one of the hottest helmers in South Korea, will lens the pic in October.
Company is also launching “Mina,” a highly stylized actioner about a school age female assassin. Pic is based on a contempo South Korean comic book which has a cult following in other Asian territories. Core is seeking co-production partners and may appoint a foreign helmer.
