Heath Ledger-starrer “Candy,” the debut movie from Oz legit director Neil Armfield, has been acquired for German release by Concorde Filmverleih.

An intimate romantic drama, “Candy” is based on Luke Davies’ bestseller of the same title, and co-stars Geoffrey Rush and rising star Abbie Cornish. Producers are Margaret Fink and Emile Sherman. Executive credits include Richard Payten and Andrew Mackie of Dendy Films, the pic’s Down Under distrib.
Deal was inked by Wouter Barendrecht, co-prexy of Hong Kong and Amsterdam-based sales agent Fortissimo Films, and Concorde managing director Markus Zimmer.
