Exec new veep of production, development for toons

Eric Robinson has been upped to veep of production and development at the Weinstein Co. from director of production.

He will develop and produce projects for the indie studio, focusing mostly on animated material.

Exec will oversee the development of all animated projects for TWC, including Unstable Fables (the company’s homevid line with the Jim Henson Co.), as well as upcoming features “Igor,” “Escape From Planet Earth” and the “Hoodwinked” sequel “Hood vs. Evil.”

Exec is also working on live-action projects “The Equalizer,” “Panic,” “Knight Rider,” “Spring Break in Bosnia” and the untitled Dane Cook project.

Based in Gotham, Robinson will report to TWC co-prexy of production Michael Cole.

Robinson began working for Bob and Harvey Weinstein at Miramax Films in 2000 as an assistant. He was upped three years later to director and moved with the Weinsteins to TWC.
