Warner Home Video will support both the HD DVD and Blu-ray high definition formats in the U.K.
The initial WB titles, a combination of recent hits and catalog favorites, are expected to be available late this year. Among them are new pics “Batman Begins,” “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” and “V for Vendetta”; as well as hits from the vault including “Full Metal Jacket,” “Space Cowboys” and “Lethal Weapon.”
“Warner Home Video is the leader in high-definition content, releasing more titles on HD DVD and Blu-ray than any other studio to date. We will take the same leadership role throughout Europe,” said Philippe Cardon, executive veepee and general manager, Warner Home Video Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Warner Home Video HD DVDs and Blu-ray Discs offer resolution up to six times higher than standard-definition DVDs. The new formats also provide a higher level of interactivity, with instant access to extra features without leaving or interrupting the film.
