Terra, Jump offer Web TV

Deal covers channels from 65 countries

MADRID — Terra, the Internet portal of Spanish telco Telefonica, has inked with online television distributor Jump TV to offer 177 channels plus video-on-demand free to Terra’s 38 million clients in Latin America.

The exclusive, ad-supported deal covers channels from 65 countries.

Spanish-language Latin American services now on Terra include Colombia’s Caracol Intl., Brazil’s Bandeirantes, TV Chile, Spain’s TVE, Televisa, VTV Uruguay and Argentina’s Telefe Intl.

Crossing Internet Protocol TV with ethnic media services, Jump TV offers broadcasters the chance to tap into expat ethnic communities with few startup costs.
