BERLIN — Germany’s biggest Internet provider T-Online has inked a content deal with BBC Worldwide for its video on demand service.
Deal, announced Monday (April 10), includes some 20 BBC programs on science, technology and culture, such as “Factor X — The Bermuda Triangle,” “The Truth About Vitamins” and “T-Rex — Warrior or Wimp.” Programs will be available to T-Online subscribers on PC or TV via a media receiver and a DSL connection.
In addition, BBC content in high definition will soon be available, initially only for PC, including productions of operas such as “Carmen” and “The Magic Flute.”
T-Online, a division of telco giant Deutsche Telekom, last week announced a similar agreement with The History Channel. The Internet provider also has content deals with Warner Bros., MGM and Discovery Networks Intl.
