TV operator to offer high-def channel
STOCKHOLM — NonStop Television will offer high-definition channel Voom in the Scandinavian and Baltic markets, following a deal with U.S. company Rainbow Media.
The Nordic region’s largest operator Canal Digital will feature the Voom HD channel as part of its HDTV package launching Nov. 1.
NonStop becomes one of the first companies to offer high-definition television in Scandinavia, Iceland and the Baltics. Voom offers entertainment, adventure, sports, music and arts programming.
“Rainbow Media becomes a strategically important partner for NonStop Television through this deal, as the company is expanding with another TV channel,” said Ignas Scheynius, CEO of NonStop Television.
NonStop Television, a subsid within the Millennium Media Group, operates entertainment channel Star! in Scandinavia and Benelux, as well as movie channels Showtime and Silver and classical music channel Mezzo in Scandinavia.
