Poehler to star in animated show
Nickelodeon has greenlit “Mighty B,” an animated show from “Saturday Night Live” star Amy Poehler.
Kids net had picked up 20 episodes of the series, about an ambitious, merit badge-collecting “Honeybee” Scout voiced by Poehler.
Nick had ordered a pilot of the project, formerly titled “Super Scout,” earlier this year (Daily Variety, Feb. 16).
Poehler, Cynthia True and Erik Wiese created the series. Half-hour will premiere in 2008.
In addition, Nick has ordered a sixth season of top-rated cartoon “SpongeBob SquarePants” (13 episodes) and beefed up the episode orders for “El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera” and “Tak and the Power of Juju,” bringing the total order for each to 20 segs.
Nick greenlit “Tak,” the CGI toon based on the THQ vidgame, and “El Tigre,” a flash animation show, leading up to the upfronts in March (Daily Variety, March 8). “El Tigre” premieres March 2 and “Tak” bows in September.
Nicktoons Prods. produces all four shows.
