Ckrush turns to Web

Indie production banner Ckrush this week is launching Web site LiveMansion.com, which aims to mix social networking and moviemaking, through which online members will create a feature.

Proposed pic, “Live Mansion,” is a thriller set in the world of rave parties.

Ckrush’s credits include low-budget, teen-skewing fare, such as the National Lampoon pics “TV: The Movie” and “Pledge This,” as well as “Beer League,” starring Artie Lange.

Members of LiveMansion.com will be charged with choosing the thriller’s cast, as well as its helmer, from a series of online submissions and various contests.

Participation in the decision-making process earns members points for their involvement, and those with the most can earn a stake in the pic as producers.

“The films we produce are oriented toward that audience (that uses social networking sites),” said company prexy Jeremy Dallow. “We’re incredibly excited about the talent we might discover.”

“Live Mansion” will be financially backed by Ckrush. Pic’s budget would be in line with the banner’s previous pics, in the $1 million-$2.5 million range.
