The CW has become the latest network to jump on the streaming bandwagon.
Net has pacted with MSN to run the series premiere of new drama “Runaway” and the season bows of “Everybody Hates Chris” and “Veronica Mars” a week before they debut on the CW. Skeins will be streamed sans commercials.
“Runaway” bows on MSN Sept. 18, while “Chris” goes online Sept. 24 and “Mars” launches Sept. 26.
NBC already has announced plans to offer virtually all of its new shows on various nonbroadcast platforms before they debut on the network. Skeins “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” and “Kidnapped” currently are available for rental via Netflix, while “Heroes” debuts on Apple’s iTunes Music Store on Friday via a free download promotional partnership with AMC Theaters.
