Climax game deal hits Buena Vista

World Brief

Disney interactive division Buena Vista Games has bought British vidgames specialist Climax Racing, marking BVG’s first purchase in Europe.

Disney declined to comment on how much it paid for the studio, which employs some 100 vidgame artists, programmers and designers and develops racing games, including franchises “MotoGP” and “ATV Offroad Fury.”

Tony Beckwith, co-founder of the studio, will be VP and general manager.

BVG also operates Propaganda Games in Vancouver and Avalanche Software in Salt Lake City.
