B’cast Asia confab will do digital

Participating companies include Tandberg, Nokia, Quantel

SINGAPORE — Broadcasting and technology event Broadcast Asia, in conjunction with CommunicAsia 2006 and EnterpriseIT2006, runs today through Friday at Singapore Expo.

Theme reflects the digital trend and is in line with Singapore’s vision to become Asia’s media marketplace and digital content hub.

Participating companies include Tandberg Television, Nokia, Panasonic, Thomson, Harris Corp., Snell & Wilcox, Coship, Scopus Network Technologies, Sennheiser, Digital Video Broadcasting, Barco, Quantel, Qualcomm and Conax.

There are pavilions from China, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Spain, Singapore, the U.K. and the U.S.

The Broadcast Asia Intl. Conference began Monday and features experts from the electronic media industry addressing issues facing the broadcasting industry.
