Alphabet pacts with cell co. for content

NEW YORK — ABC News has inked a deal with SmartVideo Technologies, a distributor of video to cell phones that also distributes “Naked News.”

Alphabet digital network ABC News Now will be available via SmartVideo, including clips from “Good Morning America,” “World News Tonight” and “Nightline,” as part of a $12.95 monthly subscription package that includes other news and sports services, including NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC and Fox Sports.

The SmartVideo-distributed “Naked News” is a weekly newscast produced in Toronto by eGalaxy and delivered by nude presenters.

SmartVideo mobile deal is ABC’s latest for ABC News Now, which is now available on 1 million video-enabled phones. Previous deals with mobile distributors include one with GoTV and MobiTV, as well as those with operators SprintTV Live and Verizon’s V-Cast service.
