As it continues to expand its online video venture, Google is teaming with Universal for the first integrated movie promotion on its site.
Search giant will create a separate page on Google Video featuring trailers and clips from “The Break-Up,” along with videos submitted by users about their own comical break-up experiences.
Google Video is one of the only sections on the Netco’s Web site that hosts content, however, giving it the opportunity to place promotional material, as is common on portals like Yahoo! and MSN.
Google Video is also launching a service that lets users upload clips via the Web and immediately post them via Google’s video player on their own blog, MySpace page or Web site, rather than wait for the piracy check Google does before posting videos in its own search engine. That process can take more than a day, as Netco makes sure it isn’t posting pirated content or pornography for which it could be held liable.
