Sundance gets a short pic fix

Twice as many titles to be streamed this year

The Sundance Institute will stream 47 shorts throughout the upcoming film festival as part of its expanded online offerings, which will include highlights of the closing-night awards ceremony for the first time.

Sundance Film Festival programming director John Cooper said twice as many shorts will be streamed this year on the Internet as last year.

Event’s Web site also will carry a series of filmmaker interviews from Park City, Gotham and L.A., as well as daily video highlights from the fest. Also set: a podcast of centerpiece panel “Writing the West,” with Wim Wenders and Sam Shepard, on Jan. 28.

All of the Internet content is free.
