Andrade, Panick upped to key roles at Web site

The Peacock is pumping up a pair of portal players, tapping Stephen Andrade and Carole Panick for key roles at

Andrade has been named senior VP of digital development and general manager of He’ll report to Vivi Zigler, exec veepee of NBC digital entertainment and new media.

Andrade had been VP of interactive development since 1999, managing and overseeing operations for and other interactive projects for NBC Entertainment. During his tenure at, the site’s staff has quadrupled in size.

“Steve has been an integral part of the team since its inception,” Zigler said. “He has repeatedly shown that he has the talent to bridge business, technology and consumer issues.”

Andrade joined the net in 1996 as the Peacock’s first lawyer devoted solely to interactive matters.

He had previously been based in the legal and business affairs department of what’s now Sony Computer Entertainment, playing a key role in the third-party licensing program tied to the launch of the original PlayStation platform.

Panick, meanwhile, has been upped to VP of digital content and development. She’ll report to Andrade.

In her new gig, Panick will manage entertainment content for and develop original online content to pair with all network dayparts. She was previously senior director.

After a stint in NBC’s advertising department early in her career, Panick worked at Fox Broadcasting, overseeing content for the net’s Web site. She returned to NBC in 2001.
