Walt Disney Internet Group and Aussie telco Optus have inked to bring the Mouse House’s online presence for kids, Disney Connection, Down Under starting in June.
Australia ranks among the top 20 nations for broadband takeup, but speeds are slower than North America and Europe.
There is a race to lock up content, with rival telco Telstra pacting with Sony Pictures Entertainment for its Big Pond service, while terrestrial TV web Seven Network has a deal with Web portal Yahoo! and Nine Network has a joint venture with Microsoft.
Disney Connection is available through Comcast in the U.S., Japan, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Peru and Argentina.
