Trailers hitched for disc delivery

Movies This Week offers new compilation every 7 days

The DVD biz may be slowing down, but one entrepreneur thinks there’s money to be made in discs of trailers studios already give out for free.

Aiming to be a subscription service a la Netflix, Movies This Week delivers a DVD every seven days that’s chockful of trailers for new theatrical and homevid releases.

For $3.95 per week or $49.99 per year, subscribers get the trailers widely available online for no charge.

“There is no need to hunt down trailers on the Internet … and watch them on a tiny window while the frames jerk and pause,” the company enthuses.

“Instead,” it promises, “these multimillion dollar trailers can be seen as they were intended: in true, full-screen theatrical style.”
