Toon deal begins ‘Happily’

Lionsgate nabs rights to CGI pic

Indie distrib Lionsgate has grabbed domestic and Canadian rights to the CG-animated family pic “Happily N’Ever After,” from helmer Paul J. Bolger.

Sarah Michelle Gellar, Sigourney Weaver, Freddie Prinze Jr., George Carlin, Wallace Shawn and Andy Dick provided voice talent.

Robert Moreland penned the pic, a satirical retelling of the Cinderella story in the vein of “Hoodwinked.”

Pic was produced by John H. Williams, with BAF Berlin Animation Film and BFC Berliner Film Companie.

Ralph Kamp and Louise Goodsill of Odyssey Entertainment co-exec produced, and Berliner’s Rainer Soehnlein exec produced.

Distrib will roll out the film in the first quarter of next year.
