Homevid label inks distrib deal with Seven Arts
Genius Products has inked another homevid distribution deal, this time with Seven Arts Pictures for up to six films a year.
Initial slate includes “Deal,” a Burt Reynolds starrer about a former gambler who schools a college kid in the game, then gets drawn back into a major competish, and “Nine Miles Down,” a thriller helmed by Anthony Waller.
Genius Products, the homevid company majority owned by the Weinstein Co., has been on an acquisitions tear lately, inking distrib deals with Tartan Video, Peace Arch Entertainment and Grodfilm in recent weeks. At Cannes, the Weinstein Co. unveiled the new Dragon Dynasty homevid label, which will be distributed by Genius.
