Foxtel ahead of the paybox pack

World Brief

Paybox Foxtel has connected a million households to its digital service, consolidating its position as Australia’s leading paybox, ahead of minority carrier Optus and regional network Austar.

Service reaches 13% of Australia’s 7.5 million households, just over half of all pay TV subscribers.

Milestone comes 27 months after Foxtel launched its digital service.

Paybox is owned by telco Telstra (50%), News Corp. (25%) and the Packer family’s Publishing and Broadcasting (25%). It will switch off its analog service in March.
