Sundance Channel to make available four TV series for download

Sundance Channel will expand its relationship with iTunes, making available four documentary series on the iTunes online store beginning today.

Episodes of “The Hill,” “The First Amendment Project,” and “The Staircase” will be available for purchase and download at $1.99 each.

Three-part series “The First Amendment Project” explores different cases that test the right to free speech, including the case of “Fox v. Franken,” in which directors Chris Hegedus and Nick Doob follow the story behind Fox Television’s legal efforts to halt publication of Al Franken’s book “Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right.”

“The Hill” is a six-part series focusing on the inner workings of the office of Congressman Robert Wexler (D-Fla.). “The Staircase” covers the mystery surrounding the death of Nortel exec Kathleen Peterson, who was married to novelist Michael Peterson.

In addition, the first episode of “One Punk Under God,” a six-part documentary series on alternative Christian minister Jay Bakker, will be available as a free download on iTunes from Dec. 5-12.
