Southern Star, SBS bond on content

B'caster buys 'McLeod's Daughters,' 'Love My Way'

Southern Star Intl. announced on Monday a deal with Netherlands broadcaster SBS for a range of Oz content.

SBS has purchased series five and six of rural drama “McLeod’s Daughters.” It has already aired seasons one through four.

It has also bought the first two seasons of “Love My Way,” one of the industry’s few drama success stories recently.

Deal was brokered by Southern Star exec Claire Taltas and both shows will go out on SBS’s Net5 channel.

SBS also acquired format rights for a third series of renovation reality skein “The Block,” and though Oz auds have tired of the program, skein has found favor with Dutch auds.
