The law firm of Thelen Reid & Priest will host afternoon seminar “What’s It Worth to You? Valuation of Entertainment and Media Assets” at its midtown Manhattan offices on Feb. 1.
Seminar, which is free but by invitation only, is for financial and media execs and other industry professionals.
Industry sectors to be covered are cable systems and networks; broadcast TV and radio stations; film and TV companies; recorded music and music publishing; newspapers, directories and information services; and interactive games.
Among the speakers are industry analyst and author Harold Vogel; Columbia U. School of Business professor Bruce Greenwald; Duff & Phelps managing director Mark Mondello; and John Chachas, a managing director of investment bank Lazard Freres.
Session will be moderated by Ezra Doner, one of Thelen Reid & Priest’s key filmed entertainment specialists.
“With so much private money flowing into entertainment and media, now’s the time to learn from recent deals and reconsider valuation of specific sectors,” Doner said.
“Two key elements of a successful media investment are valuation and luck. We can’t guarantee you luck, but we can help improve the quality of valuations,” he added.
