NEW DELHI — Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was Monday charged with poaching endangered black buck during a movie shoot in Rajasthan state eight years ago.
Thesps Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam Kothari and Tabu were charged with abetting Khan. All the men pleaded not guilty and the Jodhpur court case was adjourned until July 3.
Case is the third against Khan involving alleged hunting expeditions during the filming of “Hum saath saath hain” (We Are All Together) in 1998.
In February, he received a suspended one-year jail sentence and was fined 5,000 rupees ($113) for killing two rare deer. In April he spent four days in prison after being convicted of poaching a rare Indian gazelle and sentenced to five years in jail plus a $560 fine. He was freed on bail after appealing both convictions.
