Damon, Horwitz, Bleiberg among newly elected
The Independent Film & Television Alliance, which reps independent producers and distributors worldwide, announced its executive committee and board of directors at its annual meeting last week at the Beverly Hills Hotel.Org’s executive committee is headed by chairman Michael Ryan (IAC Film & Television), who was re-elected in September ’05. Newly elected to the executive committee are: vice chairman Mark Damon (Foresight Unlimited); Lewis Horwitz (Horwitz Ent. Financial Services), vice chairman, finance; Ehud Bleiberg (Bleiberg Ent.), chairman, IFTA Export Alliance; and vice chairman Lloyd Kaufman (Troma Entertainment). Continuing in the second year of their two-year terms are: vice chairman John Kochman (Unifrance) and vice chairman-secretary Paul Hertzberg (Cinetel Films, Inc.). Newly elected to the 20-member board of directors are: Richard Guardian (Lightning Ent.), Tony Kandah (Hollywood Wizard), Brad Kembel (Summit Ent.), Albert Lee (Emperor Motion Pictures), David Shoshan (ImageWorks Ent.) and Andrew Stevens (Focal Point Releasing). Re-elected board members are: Glen Basner (the Weinstein Co.), Steve Bickel (Aura Ent.), Nicolas Chartier (Voltage Pictures), Roger Corman (New Concorde Intl.), Pierre David (Imagination Worldwide), Peter Elson (Global Cinema Group), Kimberly Ferguson (Independent), Antony Ginnane (IFM World Releasing), Avi Lerner (Nu Image), Mark Lindsay (Kimmel Intl.), Nick Meyer (Lionsgate), Bobby Meyers (Meyers Film Ent.), Alison Thompson (Focus Features) and Kevin Williams (Kevin Williams Associates). Reiko Bradley (Foresight Unlimited) and Mark L. Lester (American World Pictures) will serve as alternates. IFTA’s premier event, the American Film Market, will take place Nov. 1-8 in Santa Monica.
