ProSiebenSat revs on rise

Earnings Brief

German TV group ProSiebenSat.1 on Thursday said revenues in the first quarter rose 8% to E465 million ($597 million) and pre-tax profit was up 6% to $64 million. CEO Guillaume de Posch attributed the increase to a slight expansion of the TV advertising market, but also to the group’s new business models, which include transaction TV.

On the basis of the first three months, the group forecasts further gains driven by its entry into IPTV and pay TV with channels Sat.1 Comedy and Kabel Eins Classics, which will start airing in June.
