Kids’ book series “Zigby and Friends,” created by Brian Paterson, will be turned into an animated series in a deal between London-based DRi Licensing and Australia’s Yoram Gross-EM TV.
First published by HarperCollins in 2002, the “Zigby” tomes have sold more than 350,000 copies in 15 countries.
Title character, a zebra who lives in a tree house, gets into scrapes but always finds a way out.
Yoram Gross-EM TV general manager Geoff Watson said the plan is to produce 26 10-minute episodes.
DRi and the Aussie firm will jointly manage licensing and merchandising products.
