WE hoping for a royal flush

Femme net to produce Charles & Camilla pic

The British royal soap story continues on WE: Women’s Entertainment.

The network has teamed with Blighty-based production company Granada Intl. to produce a pic profiling the early romance of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles.

“Charles and Camilla: Whatever Love Means” is the first original pic to be lensed under the authority of WE’s new general manager, Kim Martin. Martin’s brief tenure has so far seen record ratings at the network, in which she has increased the original programming by 30% year-to-year.

The royal expose will preem as part of the WE’s Royal Treatment Weekend beginning Dec. 2.

Royal programming has crowned the network’s ratings, including a success with its live coverage from Charles’ and Camilla’s wedding in April, and its original special, “Young, Sexy & Royal.”
