VOY Net gets two HBO vets

Carriage negotiations for network are under way

HOLLYWOOD — Lifestyle entertainment web VOY Network has tapped HBO vets Eric Levin as prexy and CEO and John Ovrutsky as chief operating officer.

Levin was HBO’s chief financial officer for 14 years through 2001. He will lead VOY Network in its bid to become the leading net for the fast-growing English-speaking U.S. Hispanic market.

Ovrutsky became the network’s executive VP of distribution and marketing in November. He spent 20 years at HBO developing and managing its relationships with its largest cable and satellite affiliates and was responsible for the satellite division’s success.

Carriage negotiations for VOY Network are under way.

The net’s previous prexy-CEO Andrew Thau will remain involved in an advisory capacity.

Launched by former StarMedia Internet founder Fernando Espuelas in 2003, VOY’s branded products and services include television and radio programming, films, music and publishing.
