Capriles to oversee operations in Miami, Madrid, Caracas
MIAMI — TV distrib Tepuy Intl. has tapped Luis Daniel Capriles chief operating officer, a newly created position.
Based at company headquarters in Miami, Capriles reports to chairman-CEO Marcos Santana.
In addition to overseeing operations in Miami, Madrid and Caracas, Capriles will be a substitute director on the boards of Colombian production company RTI TV, Endemol Andino, Reality City and Planeta TV.
Tepuy’s TV distribution portfolio includes an exclusive to productions of U.S. Hispanic net Telemundo. Tepuy execs work closely involved on development, production and strategy with the Telemundo-RTI joint venture.
Capriles founded Miami post-production house Digipost, now known as Post FX, where he worked for 10 years.
Tepuy created a COO position as part of a reorganization after senior exec VP Ignacio Barrera ankled.
Barrera had been at Tepuy for 10 years. He has segued to a new venture being created by Angel Gonzalez, who owns TV stations in Mexico, Central and South America.
New company plans to develop and launch a channel targeting U.S. Hispanic audiences.
Tepuy has hired Karina Etchison to manage sales in Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Central America and Brazil.
She joins Tepuy from Paradox Films and previously worked for Universal Television and Networks Groups in Latin America.
