Telemundo aquires KBLR

Financial terms were not disclosed

MIAMI — Spanish-language broadcaster Telemundo has completed its acquisition of KBLR Las Vegas from Summit Media Limited Partnership.

KBLR had been a Telemundo affiliate and now is the 16th Telemundo station owned and operated by the NBC Universal Television Stations division. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Carlos Sanchez becomes KBLR’s veep and general manager. He had been general manager of Telemundo affiliate XHAS San Diego since June 2000.

Sanchez reports to Ibra Morales, prexy of the Telemundo Television Stations.

The country’s 51st TV market overall, Las Vegas is the 25th largest Hispanic market, Telemundo said.
