ABC “Good Morning America” senior producer Lisa Sharkey has ankled the morning show to become president of Al Roker Prods., which produces “Roker on the Road” for Food Network and “Al Roker Investigates” for Court TV.
Roker will retain his role as CEO.
Sharkey, who oversaw all on-air contributors for “GMA” and produced the second hour of the show, said she intends to expand Al Roker Prods. into new TV genres and shows that will not star the “Today Show” weatherman.
“Al is certainly in a number of the shows, but the future of Al Roker Prods. will be to produce programming that will also have new and exciting talent on shows,” Sharkey said.
Founded in 1994, Al Roker Prods. has produced shows for NBC News, Lifetime, A&E, Discovery and PBS.
Prior to “GMA,” Sharkey was a producer at “Inside Edition” and a news producer for WNYW, WCBS and CBS Network News.
