Consumers are becoming more demanding — much to Comcast’s delight.
The cable operator’s on-demand programming has hit the 1 billion-view mark this month and is now on track to exceed previous expectations. Company originally estimated it would reach a billion by the end of 2005.
Since its launch in 2002, on-demand programming has witnessed steady growth. Last year, there were 567 million video-on-demand views.
The most popular categories for on-demand programming were music, movies, sports and children’s shows.
