Moscow suburb keeps it real

World Brief

MOSCOW — Russia’s plushest neighborhood is to become the subject of a series that mixes reality and fiction.

Produced by NTV, and directed by reality show vet Grigory Lyubomirov, “Rublevka. Live” will examine the lives of people in the Moscow suburb of Rublevskoye Shosse.

The area is home to President Vladimir Putin, many prominent state officials, celebrities, artists and many of Russia’s new wealthy classes.

“Rublevka — it’s all of Russia in miniature, with its president, government, rich and poor,” Lyubomirov told local press.

Lyubomirov says the show will mix elements of reality with more traditional series storylines. Actors will interact with the locals in what industryites describe as a docu-soap.

Lyubomirov was involved with Russia’s 2001 “Behind the Glass,” an unlicensed “Big Brother” knockoff.
