Ex-Fox Kids exec to seek out media investments
LONDON — Former chairman of Fox Kids Europe Ynon Kreiz has joined venture capital firm Benchmark Capital.
Kreiz joins Benchmark as a general partner of its European funds, and is charged with expanding its investment portfolio into the media. Benchmark has $375 million earmarked for its European investments.
Kreiz helped found Fox Kids in 1996 as a joint venture between News Corp and Saban Entertainment. It was sold to Walt Disney in October 2001 and Kreiz ankled the company in December 2002.
He immediately rejoined Saban and was put in charge of seeking out investment opportunities in the media. Following the purchase of ProSieben by Saban and a group of investors in August 2003, Kreiz was appointed to the German broadcaster’s supervisory board.
