Guild unionizes employees at reality producer

HOLLYWOOD — The Intl. Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees has unionized more than 70 film editors and assistants employed by reality TV producer True Entertainment.

IATSE and the Motion Picture Editors Guild, which operates as IATSE Local 700, announced Thursday that they had won a National Labor Relations Board election by a 33-17 margin.

True Entertainment produces ABC’s “Worlds Apart,” and TLC’s “Town Haul” and “A Baby Story,” among other shows. Organizing coordinator Jesus Sanchez and field rep Annie Ballard led the drive.

IATSE and the Motion Picture Editors Guild recently organized 80 employees on three reality shows produced by Mark Burnett.
