Distrib arm sells 'Sex' to VTM
AMSTERDAM — Fremantle Intl. Distribution has closed a pack of new lifestyle deals with broadcasters in Holland and Belgium, among them Talkback production “The Sex Inspectors.”
The distrib arm of global production outfit FremantleMedia has sold “The Sex Inspectors” to VTM in Belgium and RTL Netherlands, the largest commercial nets in their respective territories.
The six-episode series has so-called “sexperts” look under the sheets to help couples spice up their sex lives.
Both broadcasters also have snapped up Fresh One Prods.’ “Jamie’s School Dinners,” a major ratings grabber on the U.K.’s Channel 4 that has been licensed to more than30 territories.
Three-channel net RTL Netherlands also acquired property makeover show “House Doctor” and “Jimmy’s Farm,” a doc about an academic who turns to pig farming.
Competing net SBS Holland has picked up the 52-episode FID series “Grand Designs” and six-episode get-clean series “Too Posh to Wash.” “Grand Designs” runs through the process of turning major design ideas into finished projects, while “Too Posh to Wash,” with the help of suds, forensics and the same cast as “How Clean Is Your House,” takes on the task of shaming offenders into cleaning up their acts and perhaps their armpits as well.
