Chum’s City-tv gains new outlets

Net will replace the A-Channel stations in Calgary

MONTREAL — Chum Television’s City-tv, already operating in Toronto and Vancouver, is set to expand to the Canadian provinces of Alberta and Manitoba.

Toronto-based Chum announced Thursday that it will replace the A-Channel stations in Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg with City-tv stations this fall in what it describes as a rebranding exercise.

The stations will run the same primetime programming as the City-tv outlets in Toronto and Vancouver, a schedule heavy on Hollywood movies.

Chum picked up the A-Channel stations when it acquired Calgary-based Craig Media last year.
