Channel investigates new market

World Brief

HOLLYWOOD — Court TV, which now calls itself the Investigation Channel, has inked its first deal with Fox Intl. Channels Italy to license seven of its primetime series to the Euro-based cabler.

Among the shows made available are “Hollywood Justice,” “Extreme Evidence,” “Psychic Detectives” and “Masterminds.” Court TV’s programming will be seen in 35 countries once the license begins.

“With the increased interest in forensics and investigation-based programming, our shows are performing well globally. Bringing our original primetime programming to Italy is a great way to showcase our brand internationally,” says Jennifer Buzzelli, senior director of international distribution.

Court TV is a 50-50 joint venture between Time Warner and Liberty Media.
